How do you develop your creative best?

Creativity can tend to sound airy-fairy, elitist, or something that belongs only to artists and authors.

Perhaps you wonder why you should bother with creativity at all.

Yet creativity can extend you in ways that flow into every part of your life.

Creativity is a set of filters

The same world, just different…

If you don a pair of polarized-lens sunglasses on a glaringly bright day, you’ll see the world more clearly, without the haze. You’ll see objects in more detail, and objects you simply couldn’t see before– such as fish under the water.

Similarly, you can develop mind- filters. 

Allow yourself to feel your passions deeply, allow your mind to dream and construct future visions of your life and business.

The more you focus on a passion, the more sharply tuned your filter will be. You will start to notice connections between things that you were blind to before.  You will  see opportunities that didn’t seem available previously. Life will start to present things to you to aid you in your journey. Ideas will start to jump out at you. You will gain more perspective and understanding of your subject. You will be able to see where the real blocks and obstacles are.

A filter as a tool

After a while you will begin to see a filter as a tool– just like a paintbrush, pen or hammer.  Practice focusing on your vision of a subject, not the subject itself.  Allow yourself to imagine.

Almost certainly you’ve had the experience of being exposed to something different, and then you started noticing that thing– in the street, on TV and so on– something that was always there but you just didn’t notice before.

That’s a filter.
